Canadian psychiatrist and psychotherapist with thirty years experience in the mental health field, 15 years experience working in clinical psychiatry in the United Kingdom and Canada, and 15 years as lecturer, supervisor, and in private practice. Acted as personal assistant to David Cooper, studied with the Philadelphia Association and apprenticed in psychotherapy with R.D. Laing. Assisted in the founding of the British Network of Alternatives to Psychiatry and the Supportive Psychotherapy Association. Member since 1987 of the editorial collective of Asylum Magazine in addition to publications in existential and critical psychiatry journals in UK. Held positions as visiting lecturer at the Regent's College School of Psychotherapy and Counselling, The New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling and Schiller International University, until relocating to Canada in May 2004.

Areas of interest include the philosophical and political critiques of mainstream psychiatry and psychotherapy, particularly in the tradition of R.D. Laing and David Cooper.
